unity exists in many ways. class spirit, school spirit, cheers, eating together, crapping together, even doing (or not doing) homework together. these are all explicit demonstation on unity.

in terms of class spirit, unity involves going for recess together, going on class outings together, sitting together during lunch, crapping together (or otherwise) during free time. yet again, it may seem easy to attain, but hard to achieve.

unity also means making sacrifices. lets quote for example, u dislike attending a particular class outing. however, because of ur own preference, the class spirit is united. yes, it may sound insensible, but to build class spirit, u must first be willing to sacrifice. no matter how boring it is, u should at least turn up. when u choose not to go, its not just about u urself anymore, its about the class.

then u may ask: why is unity so important? well... tell me how u would like coming to a boring and uninteresting class of which u do not interact with or a absolutely lifeless class. tell me how u would like attending lessons alone. tell me how u would like coming to sch for the sole purpose of studying and nothing else? friends ARE imporatant, and therefore so is class spirit. without class spirit there wont be fun, there wun be joy, everything and everyone would simply exists for himself and not bother about u. how would u like that?

however, there are some people who are just out to break the bonding and the comaraderie. yes, somethings u may find pointless, but its also important to think for the sake of everyone. it is only when u are able to compromise and put other's interest before ur's can u realli understand what is the whole big deal about team spirit. When u are eventually willing u go through tough times for the sake of unity and comaraderie, u have thoroughly understood why unity is important.


the above mentioned are just my personal views. they are not written to pin point any body nor to shoot any arrows, just my thoughts and sth to ponder over. to all cadets, specialists and classmates out there: we hang the word unity on our mouths, but how often do we practise it, and how often do we actually do something to contribute to this ever-so-incomprehensible word?
